Welcome To KU: D.J. Beshears

D.J. Beshears was somewhat of a late addition to KU's 2009 recruiting class. Originally committed to Iowa State, the 5-foot-9, 190-pound wide-receiver from Ryan High School in Denton, Texas, took an official visit to Kansas during the weekend of January 16 and gave the nod to the Jayhawks several days later. Why did the No. 100 ranked wide-receiver in the class make the switch? Aside from football, what else does Beshears enjoy? Jayhawk Slant has those answers, and several more.

Favorite football memory?

Winning the first playoff game of my high school career this year was a great feeling. I had three or four touchdowns and over 100 yards receiving. It was the first time Ryan High School had won a playoff game during my high school career. It was a big deal.
