Skyline prospects taking their time
The Dallas Skyline trio of wide receiver Mike Davis and linebackers Corey Nelson and Dominique Pattterson are one of the most heavily-recruited groups of teammates in the country. In fact, both Davis and Nelson are on the Rivals250 to Watch List for 2010 and Patterson is considered one of the top outside linebacker prospects in the state.
All three visited Austin this past Sunday for Texas' first junior day of the year and it was speculated that at least two, and possibly all three, might come away with offers from the Longhorns. However, that was not the case with either Patterson or Davis.
"It went well," said the 6-foot, 210-pound Patterson. "Everything went well. We got there about 8:30 in the morning and it was hard to find a free parking spot. After we got in, we took a tour of the athletic complex and got to see the locker room and the training room. We had a player panel and we got to ask questions of the players, coach Brown and the assistant coaches. We were mainly just listening and evaluating. They talked about redshirting and whose decision is it, what your everyday schedule is like and balancing everything as a player and a student."
