Catching up with Walker May

Secondary..

"We lost Josh Allen and Jared Fagan and we had a fairly good idea that D.J. was going to go out early due to the success he had. So that was planned.

"You can't play defensive back in the SEC without speed. Everyone we signed, we hope, meets certain perimeters and certainly at defensive back, speed is one of them. Hopefully, they're all fast enough to play.

"They were outstanding players in high school. Trey and Eric have excellent speed. We were very fortunate to have two open dates in the season, this past year and I was able to go out and watch Trey play in a game. So we got to see him in person and we were not only impressed with his athletic ability but his presence on the field and how he conducted himself and how he would fit in.

"Eric, we've been on for a long time, he was committed to us since last spring. He's extremely fast athlete that can probably play several positions. Those are the kind of guys that we have to recruit to be able to compete in the SEC. We were very fortunate to get those two."
