Sooners Offer Houston Area Superstar

In the days leading up to the start of Oklahoma's spring practices they've hit the road hard to be visible at schools around the country but even more so have done a lot of film evaluation to see what players they may be take interest in. One player who has apparently passed the test of Oklahoma's coaching staff is Missouri City (Texas) Ft. Bend Marshall standout Toney Hurd Jr..

The 5-foot-9, 184-pound defensive back is one of the top prospects in the Houston area and recently picked up some big news from the Sooners.

"Yes sir, they are showing me a lot of interest, they offered me about a week and a half ago," Hurd Jr. explained. "They've been mailing me for a while but (the offer) was kind of out of the blue. I never really got to talk to the coaches, but I would always read their mail.

"I haven't gotten the written offer just yet but they've told me it's coming."
