NoCal QB ond of the state's best

One of the very best signal callers in the Golden State this year is Brett Nottingham (6-4, 210, 4.7) from Danville (Calif.) Monte Vista. The talented signal caller can make all the throws, but what separates him from others is his accuracy and decision making. He is also very technically sound.

Nottingham he earned second-team all-league as a junior. The reason he wasn't first-team was that spot was taken by Boise State bound field general, Joe Southwick. He was also second-team all-area, second-team all-state underclass and all-metro honorable mention after throwing for 3,500 yards, and 39 touchdowns, against only nine picks, while hitting on 70 percent of his passes.

On the recruiting trail, Nottingham is getting serious recruiting attention from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Notre Dame and Brown.

Nottingham has been very busy of late getting acquainted with the colleges that are showing interest in him.

"I went to Cal's practice on Sunday and talked to Jeff Tedford for a good amount of time," Nottingham said. "I met a lot of the quarterbacks at Cal and had a good time."

"Last month I went to Stanford's junior day and that went well," Nottingham said. "They showed us around the campus and it was unbelievable and beautiful."
