Spring notes: Day 1

MORGANTOWN--Spring football at West Virginia started without prize freshman wide receiver Logan Heastie in workout gear Tuesday under breezy, cloudy conditions at Milan Puskar Stadium.

"It's a Clearinghouse review thing; that's all I'm allowed to say about it," said head coach Bill Stewart after Practice I.

Heastie, who played at Great Bridge High School in Tidewater, Va., enrolled early at West Virginia and has been taking classes during the spring term. The Rivals four-star wide receiver chose to come here early rather than graduate with his high school class. He had been participating in winter conditioning.
