Spring Report - Wide Receivers

Two areas that appear to be have depth and strength for the Bruins will be at wide receiver and tight end. Because of trouble in the passing game in 2008 this group could only show flashes of what they are capable of doing.

During the 7-on-7 drills working up to spring again showed flashes of potential. The offense is usually behind the defense in the early going, but still this group showed their raw talent during the drill.

Terrence Austin has been working his tail off this offseason and it looks like he has gained a step or two of speed when running the deep routes this offseason. He was getting deep quite often, but unfortunately passes thrown weren't accurate. The potential is there though for getting deep. One thing that is for sure, Austin has put in the work and seems primed for another good year.

The biggest surprise for Bruin fans last season was Taylor Embree. The sure handed wide receiver had shoulder surgery so he wasn't partaking in the 7-on-7 drills this offseason building up to spring. He was doing some hand drills on the sideline. According to sources, he should be available for some work during spring, but will be limited in contact.
