Hawthorne ready to prove doubters wrong

Tim Hawthorne has heard it time and again.

Auburn lacks playmakers at the wide receiver position.

"I've been hearing that since I got here, that the receivers are the weakest link on the team," Hawthorne said. "This is just another opportunity to prove what we can do."

Auburn's wide receivers caught just four touchdown passes last year. While Hawthorne averaged a team-best 25.4 yards per catch, he failed to reach the endzone.

But this spring he's working in a brand new offense with new coaches and a new outlook.
