Hoch visits Iowa spring practice
It was quite a busy weekend for Harlan defensive end Matt Hoch. On Saturday, the first priority was taking the ACT's in the morning followed by Prom that evening. Then on Sunday, he made the drive across the state of Iowa in some inclement weather to watch the Hawkeyes at work in spring practice.
The Hawkeyes were the first program to offer the 6-foot-5, 230-pound Hoch shortly after his sophomore year. Since then, he has stayed in regular contact with the Iowa coaching staff, including defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski.
Along with Iowa, Hoch currently has scholarship offers from Missouri, Iowa State, and Stanford with interest from Nebraska and a number of others.
As a junior, he earned all-state honors after collecting 96 tackles and eight sacks in leading Harlan to a 10-2 record.
