Washington was an all-state performer at Tallassee (Ala.) High, but didn't sign with a Division I school because of academics. Instead he went to Gulf Coast Community College and was set to sign with Ole Miss. Then a new staff at Auburn was hired. Shortly thereafter, Washington was a Tiger. On his workout regime: "I've been working out on my own. I work out Mondays and Wednesdays and run on Tuesdays and Thursdays."

You say you're at 185 now, how much do you want to weigh when you report to Auburn? "They told me not to worry about me weight. They would take care of that when I got there. They just told me to maintain my speed. I've been working hard on my speed and not my weight."

When do you plan to move to Auburn? "School is going great for me. I take my finals next week and I enroll at Auburn in June. I'm really looking forward to it. I've been talking to a lot of guys down there. I'm just ready to get back home."
