UA visits Rivals100 RB

Nick Saban and the Alabama coaching staff have shown they are willing to travel far and wide to recruit great running backs and Pennsylvania running back Corey Brown is the latest out-of-state ball carrier to attract the attention of the Crimson Tide staff.

"Coach (Sal) Sunseri came up to see him and it's certainly a big deal to get a visit from an SEC coach," said Dan Algeo, Brown's head coach at Cardinal O'Hara. "Coach Sunseri said he's planning to visit again in the future so I know Alabama is obviously very interested in Corey."

Brown, the nation's No. 7 running back prospect, holds offers from almost every major program in the country, including the Tide and fellow SEC powers Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina. Algeo said Brown isn't rushing his decision and plans on narrowing his list down before heading into summer camp season.

"It's been a very active spring for Corey," Algeo said. "So far, he's being very open to the process and to any schools that are interested in him. In a few weeks, his mother and I will sit down with him and start to narrow it down from the 30 or so offers he has to a final 8 to 10 schools."

"We'll probably have it narrowed down by Memorial Day and from there we can start to focus on setting up his summer schedule. I know he's planning on going to several camps."

Algeo said he's been particularly impressed with the young star's maturity and patience with the recruiting process and expects him to wait until he is fully informed before making a final decision.

"He's handling it all very maturely and he's really trying to stay open to all his options. He's really trying to make sure he takes his time and chooses the best possible school for him."

Brown racked up 600 yards and 13 touchdowns in just three games during his injury-shortened junior season.
