Week in review: Miami Booker T. vs Miami Pace

On Thursday evening we were able to take in the Miami Booker T. Washington vs Miami Pace clash. A host of college coaches from around the country were there to take in the game. Here is a list of the top performers as Pace won 30-12.

Miami Pace prospects:

Jabari Gorman - 2011 Safety/Wide Receiver:

The 5 foot 11, 170-pound Gorman was probably the player of the game. He had an interception and had a couple of vicious hits. Gorman also played wide receiver and is one of Miami Pace's big play threats as he can take it the distance any time he touches the ball.

Issac Dixon - 2010 Linebacker:

The 5 foot 11, 185-pound Dixon was all over the field on defense for Miami Pace. He returned an interception for a touchdown to seal the game. He recently picked up offers from Syracuse and Kansas State.

Isaiah Williams - 2010 Wide Receiver/Linebacker:

The 6 foot 2, 195-pound Williams is just a physical football player. He made a nice grab along the sideline and took a screen pass for a big gain at wide receiver on defense. On defense he lined up covering slot receiver at times and played in the box while supporting the run other times. Williams' calling in college could be on the defensive side of the ball as a linebacker.

Stephen Morris - 2010 Quarterback:

The 6 foot 2, 190-pound Morris had a slow start, but in the second half he got rolling. He was hitting receivers all over the field. His showed off his mobility avoiding the Booker T. Washington pressure to scramble and pick up yardage.

Deandre Johnson - 2010 Running Back:

The 5 foot 8, 205-pound Johnson struggled to find much running room, but he did have a nice run to get the ball inside the 5 yard line. Johnson was hit in the backfield on the play, but he spun out and reversed field to pick up a nice game. He is a down hill runner who hits the whole hard.

Normondo Harris - 2010 Cornerback:

The 6 foot 1, 175-pound Harris is a big physical corner. He does a nice job in run support from the cornerback position. Harris showed good coverage skills when he was challenged. I would look for more schools to show interest in Harris after his performance.

Martin Maycock - 2010 Linebacker:

The 5 foot 11, 211-pound Maycock returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter. He is a solid run stuffing linebacker for their defense.

Miami Booker T. Washington's standouts:

Jonas Clark - 2011 Linebacker:

The 6 foot 2, 175-pound Clark was a standout all night breaking up passes and making tackles all over the field. He is definitely a player to watch the next 2 years.

Jayvon Wrentz - 2010 Wide Receiver:

The 5 foot 11, 175-pound Wrentz was the go to receiver with standout Quinton Dunbar sitting out. He and Dunbar will form a dynamic duo this fall if they can find someone to get them the ball. Wrentz showed good speed and excellent ball skills.

Lynden Trail - 2010 Defensive End:

The 6 foot 7, 205-pound Trail wasn't able to get any sacks, but he did apply a lot of pressure. He stills needs to continue to get bigger and stronger, but he has such a quick for step.
