Five-star power forward likes Miss. St.
Five-star power forward Luke Cothron is one of the most saught after players in the country.
But the 6-foot-8, 210-pounder has no plans of rushing into a decision anytime soon. In fact, Cothron plans to wait until the late signing period to announce his future college choice.
"I'm probably going to sign late," Cothron said. "I want to wait and see how everyone does during the season. "I don't have any favorites. I'm just going through the process."
The Huntsville, Ala., native has plenty of offers to pick from including Mississippi State, Alabama, UAB, Arkansas, Auburn, Connecticut, Florida, Florida State, Kansas, North Carolina State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
But despite all the offers and being rated the No. 3 power forward and the overall No. 13 player in the country, Cothron remains humble and has been surprised by the amount of limelight he has received.
"I really wasn't expecting a lot of attention," Cothron said. "One of my goals was to be the best player that I can be and get some Division-I, high major looks and then all of this came about."
One of the schools that got an early start during Cothron's recruitment is Mississippi State. The Bulldogs were one of the first to offer Cothron and will likely receive several visits to Starkville based on his growing relationship with MSU assistant coach Phil Cunningham.
