"The Pac-10 has specific rules that prohibit our coaches from making public comments about officiating, and this prohibition specifically includes comments that create doubts about the credibility of the conference's officiating program."

- Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott, after the conference reprimanded Oregon head football coach Chip Kelly for making critical remarks of the officiating in last week's game against Stanford.



The 2010-11 athletic season continues and the new NCAA RPI rankings are out for both soccer and volleyball with Stanford third in soccer and the Cardinal sixth in volleyball.

Oregon head football coach Chip Kelly was reprimanded by the Pac-10 for criticizing officials in the Ducks' win over Stanford last week.

Meanwhile, at NCAA HQ, the nine finalists for the NCAA's Woman of the Year include Arizona swimmer Justine Schluntz.





California

In volleyball, junior outside hitter Tarah Murrey was named as the conference's player of the week.



Oregon

In football, sophomore running back LaMichael James was named as the conference's offensive player of the week.



Stanford

In football, the Cardinal lost to Oregon, 52-31 - their first loss of 2010.



Arizona State

In football, head coach Dennis Erickson will not start sophomore linebacker Vontaze Burfict at middle linebacker this week against Washington after he head-butted Oregon State quarterback Ryan Katz last week in Corvallis - though Burfict is expected to play in the game.



Washington

In football, the junior kicker Erik Folk was named as the conference's special teams player of the week.



Oregon State

In football, the Beavers defeated Arizona State, 31-28, to improve to 2-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.



Arizona

In football, wide receiver Juron Criner is expected to play against OSU on Saturday after recovering from turf toe.



UCLA

In football, the Bruins defeated Wazzu, 42-28 and fell to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in conference play.



WSU

In volleyball, the Cougars were swept by UCLA and USC to fall to 6-8 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

In football, the Cougars lost to UCLA, 42-28 to fall to 1-4 overall on the year and 0-2 in conference play.

In soccer, Wazzu skunked Gonzaga, 4-0 to remain unbeaten all-time against the Zags and improve to 5-6 overall with an RPI of 107 while true freshman Eileen "Bunny" Maes was named as the conference's player of the week.



USC

In football, the Trojans lost lost to Washington, 32-31 to fall to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
