V-Cast: Can revamped o-line produce?

EAST LANSING - Michigan State players and coaches have not had their confidence shaken by last weekend's loss at Notre Dame.

The Spartans are eagerly back to work preparing for the final non-conference game of the season against Central Michigan. That game will serve as a dress rehearsal before the team opens Big Ten play on the road at Ohio State on Oct. 5.

The Spartans will face the Chippewas with a re-shuffled offensive line. Fou Fonoti will start in place of Skyler Burkland, who was lost for the season with a broken ankle suffered at Notre Dame. Redshirt freshman Travis Jackson will take over for Blake Treadwell as the starting center. Treadwell suffered an MCL sprain in the second half at Notre Dame.
The new faces on the offensive line have not changed Michigan State's resolve do a better job running the football. An inability to run the football made the Spartan offense one-dimensional and less effective at Notre Dame.

After practice on Tuesday, Jim Comparoni and Paul Konyndyk shared their insight and analysis of the Michigan State football program heading into the Central Michigan game in the latest SpartanMag.com V-Cast.

NOTE: MSU has a bye week AFTER the MSU-Ohio State game, not before it. Comparoni's error. Focusing on one week at a time, you know. Didn't have the schedule memorized.
