One 'Moore' Time

Boise State QB Kellen Moore among four Broncos to accept Senior Bowl invites

Mobile, AL. (Dec. 29)-The nation's all-time winningest quarterback will headline a stellar senior group of Boise State Broncos in next month's Senior Bowl. Kellen Moore will join running back Doug Martin, defensive back George Iloka and defensive lineman Billy Winn on the North squad in the 2012 Senior Bowl. All four players have officially accepted invitations to the senior showcase event, it was announced today. The 2012 Senior Bowl is set for 3 pm (CT) on January 28th in Mobile's Ladd-Peebles Stadium. The game and all practices will be televised by NFL Network.

"It's amazing what this group of seniors from Boise State accomplished over the course of their respective careers," Senior Bowl President and CEO Steve Hale said. "Not only are they a part of the winningest senior class in FBS history but they also are very deserving of the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the National Football League next month here at the Senior Bowl."

Moore finished his career with a 50-3 record as a starter, tops in FBS history. His three losses were by a combined five points and he went 6 and 0 against BCS schools over the course of his career. The Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year in 2011, Moore threw for 3,800 yards and 43 scores this
year. He had five 300-yard passing games this season, set school and conference records in touchdowns (43) and completion percentage (74.3) and school records in completions (326) and attempts (439).

"I'm very aware of the unique opportunity that the Senior Bowl presents," Moore said. "There's been so many great players throughout history that have had the opportunity to play in this game and it's really the first big step in this process of trying to play professionally."

The Prosser, Washington native capped off his career with 293 passing yards and two touchdowns in the Broncos' Las Vegas Bowl victory over Arizona State. He is the first player in NCAA history to record four seasons with both 3,000 yards of total offense and 3,000 passing yards. He is also just the sixth quarterback in NCAA history to top 14,000 career passing yards, finishing with 14,667-good enough for fifth on the all-time list. A Heisman Trophy Award finalist as a junior, Moore ranks second on the NCAA's
all-time list with 142 career touchdown passes and fourth in completion percentage (69.8%).

Moore was also remarkably accurate over the course of his career which is evident in his FBS-leading interception percentage (28 INTs out of 1,658 attempts or 1.68%) and passing efficiency rating (168.97). The left-handed quarterback leaves Boise State with 16 career 300-yard passing games and is the nation's active leader with multiple touchdown passes in 26 straight games.

"It's just going to be a lot of fun, playing with some of the best players in the country and enjoying that process, have fun and go out there and compete and enjoy it," Moore said of the Senior Bowl.

Martin finished off his collegiate career with a bang, earning Las Vegas Bowl MVP honors after totaling a bowl record 301 all-purpose yards, including a 100 yard kickoff return for a touchdown to start the game. He also ran for another score in the victory over Arizona State, finishing the night with 151 yards on the ground. Martin, a first team All-Mountain West selection this year, wrapped up his senior campaign with 1,299 rushing yards and 19 total touchdowns. He also accounted for 1,892 all-purpose yards in 2011, good enough for second-best in the MWC.

For his career, the Stockton, California native rushed for 3,431 yards and 43 touchdowns. That ranks him fifth and third respectively on the school's all-time list in those categories. He also added 715 receiving yards, four receiving touchdowns and finished fifth in school history with 4,885 all purpose yards.

Iloka, pronounced (Eye-LOKE-uh), earned first team All-Mountain West Conference honors for the Broncos from his safety position this season after tallying 58 total tackles. He was also an Honorable Mention All-America selection by the Associated Press. The Houston, Texas native was a part of a defensive unit that lead the MWC in total defense, scoring defense and rushing defense. Iloka, a three year starter, finished his career with 231 total tackles and seven interceptions.

"It's definitely a great opportunity to showcase what you got especially for guys like me, Kellen, Doug and Billy coming from Boise State," Iloka said. "Obviously we don't play against some of the bigger schools and don't receive some of the media attention some of these other guys get, so it's always a great opportunity to showcase what you have against other good talents across the United States."

Winn, a second team All-Mountain West Conference selection in 2011, notched two sacks for the Broncos in their bowl victory over Arizona State. He finished the season with 34 total tackles and eight tackles for loss. For his career, the Las Vegas, Nevada native posted 36.5 tackles for loss, which ranks ninth best in school history. He leaves Boise State with 133 total tackles and 16 sacks, the latter of which ranks 10th on the school's all-time list.
