Sidney declares for NBA Draft

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State junior forward Renardo Sidney announced Monday he will forego his senior season and declare for the 2012 NBA Draft.

The Jackson, Miss., native, who appeared in 48 games for the Bulldogs and drew 46 starts, signed with Rogue Sports, an entertainment firm that represents pro athletes.

"I appreciate Mississippi State giving me an opportunity to play, but I feel it's time for me to move on," Sidney said. "I'm grateful to all the administrators, coaching staff and the fans for their support during my time at Mississippi State. I'm entering the draft to follow my dream of playing in the NBA and to help my family."

The 6-foot-10 standout averaged 11.5 points and 6.1 rebounds. After sitting out his first season due to NCAA sanctions, he averaged 14.2 points and 7.6 boards.

In all, he scored in double-digits 29 times, while posting 20-plus points on four occasions - all in SEC play.

He scored a career-high 24 points twice, first at Ole Miss (1-13-11) and at home against LSU (2-23-11). He also posted six double-doubles.
