GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Despite being picked by the media to win the ACC coastal division, the Hokies didn't get as much love individually.

Still, three Virginia Tech defenders were named to the conference's all-pre-season team by members of the media during the ACC Football Kickoff Sunday and Monday at Grandover Resort.

Junior defensive end James Gayle, junior cornerback Kyle Fuller and senior linebacker Bruce Taylor were all voted to the team.

Junior quarterback Logan Thomas was voted as the runner-up for pre-season player of the year on Sunday, was left off the team. He finished behind Clemson wide receiver Sammy Watkins for player of the year voting. Watkins was the only unanimous selection on the pre-season team.

Virginia Tech was voted to win the coastal division, while Florida State was voted as the atlantic division winner. The Seminoles were voted to win the ACC Championship.
