Virginia Tech rolled up 525 total yards of offense against the Blue Devils Saturday, their most since they gained 605 against Wake Forest in 210. After the game, Derrick Hopkins, J.C. Coleman, Marcus Davis and Cody Journell spoke to the media.

Coleman had the stat of the day, rushing for 183 yards and two long second half touchdowns. He rushed 45 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter and then added an 86-yarder in the fourth to give the Hokies an insurmountable lead.

"Coach made me the starter this week and I just wanted to make sure whenever they called my number that I was able to make plays and everything," Coleman said. "Everybody fought hard - the offense fought hard, the defense fought hard, the line gave me outstanding holes to run through and it was just great."

The defense really came alive in the second half and flew to the football in pursuit of the ball carrier. The Hokies finished with five sacks on the day, three of which came in the crucial third quarter.

"We just played harder," Hopkins said. "We ran to the ball and just played with more emotion and more passion. That's really it. We just played and went out an performed...We just went out and balled out and played Hokies football."

Along with Coleman's big effort, the Hokies got big numbers from Davis who hauled in 144 yards on five receptions and two touchdowns. On his last touchdown catch, a forty-seven yarder in the third quarter, Davis came up with what looked like a hurt shoulder.

"On the touchdown, it was kind of a battle for the ball and throughout the battle - I guess he was trying to rip the ball out - and I felt my shoulder kind of slip. It slipped back in, so it's just a little sore but it's good to go."
