Barr to stay at UCLA for senior season

Despite being ranked as a first rounder by many scouting services, including ESPN NFL Draft guru Mel Kiper Jr., UCLA linebakcer Anthony Barr announced Monday he will stay in Westwood for his senior season.

"As close as I am to my dream of playing in the NFL," he wrote on his Twitter account, "I believe one more year with this awesome coaching staff and my teammates is whats...best."

Barr, a junior, led the nation in sacks with 13.5 and was seriously considering forgoing his senior season for the NFL.

But head coach Jim Mora will get his pass rusher back next year after all.

"I will be returning for my senior season to further develop as a player and person, to help lead this team to a PAC12 championship...," Barr wrote, "and ultimately a national championship. Go Bruins! #8clap"

In a statement released by the school Monday evening, Mora added: "Anthony considered his options and we are glad he has chosen to stay with his teammates to continue the mission to move Bruin football forward in the new year."
