"I felt like it was the right fit," George said to the Las Vegas Sun. "It's just the people up there. They were all nice."
George told Duck Sports Authority last week that he was not put off by Oregon's recent staff shake-up following the hiring of new head coach Mark Helfrich.
"[Kelly] leaving doesn't really affect me," said George. "I'm just ready to go in and see what it's like out there. The offensive line coach [Steve Greatwood] has been recruiting me and I'm feeling pretty good about them."
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound athlete is the fourth recruit to join assistant coach Steve Greatwood on the offensive line joining Jake Pisarcik, Evan Voeller and Doug Brenner. Greatwood is recharging the Duck OL pipeline this year due to the graduations of Ryan Clanton, Nick Cody, Kyle Long and Carson York.
George is the 15th recruit to join Oregon's class of 2013, looking to fill a total class size of around 20 in the next week before signing day.
