LSU picked to finish third in SEC West

LSU was picked by members of the media covering the Southeastern Conference's Football Media Days to finish third in the Western Division.

The Tigers were selected behind Alabama and Texas A&M. The Crimson Tide was overwhelmingly selected to win the overall SEC title. No school has won back-to-back SEC championships since Tennessee in 1997-98.

Georgia was chosen to be the SEC East winner. The Bulldogs, who had the most votes besides Alabama for the overall league title, has won the Eastern Division the past two years. South Carolina was picked second and Florida third in the SEC East.

Nine Tigers players were chosen to the media's preseason All-SEC team. Odell Beckham was selected twice - kick returner and all-purpose player. LSU had three first-team selections - defensive tackle Anthony Johnson, safety Craig Loston and Beckham (kick returner).

The Tigers had two players on the second team - linebacker Lamin Barrow and Beckham (all-purpose player). The five LSU players chosen to the third team were running back Alfred Blue, wide receiver Jarvis Landry, offensive tackle La'El Collins, guard Josh Williford and linebacker Tahj Jones.

Alabama dominated the selections on the preseason All-SEC team with 16 players recognized. Georgia and Florida had nine players recognized like LSU. Tennessee and Auburn were next with six players chosen. South Carolina only had four picks, while Texas A&M had three.

Here is the predicted finish for the two divisions.
