RCS Columbus: They said it

DUBLIN, Ohio -- Over 200 athlete competed at RCS Columbus on Saturday, and while our analysts certainly got to know the players better on the field, we also wanted to get to know them off the field as well. From pre-game rituals, favorite NFL players and who the best Twitter follows are, we spoke to a variety of campers and gathered some very interesting answers.

What is the main reason you choose to participate in this camp?

I just want to prove that I am one of the top quarterbacks in the country today and I feel that this is one of the best opportunities to do that. -- Messiah DeWeaver, Quarterback, Trotwood-Madison (Ohio)

Just to show that I can compete with the best players out here. With me being from Kentucky, there is not as much talent down there and I know if I am one of the top prospects here and I can show out. -- Jensen Feggins, Wide Receiver, Fort Thomas (Ky.) Highlands

It is a top-notch camp and I know that doing well here will get me a lot of publicity. -- Quinton Baker, Running Back, Ashland (Ky.) Paul G. Blazer

Really I just want have fun and maybe get some more colleges to look at me. Next year is my senior year and I want to get things going. -- Donte Horton, Wide Receiver, West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West

I play football in Kentucky and I like coming up to Ohio to face different and deeper competition and show the higher-level schools what I can do against better competition. -- Drake Jackson, Offensive Lineman, Versailles (Ky) Woodford County

What's your favorite pre-game ritual when you play?

I usually just say a prayer to my grandmother so I just keep her with me while I am playing. -- Barry Deaton, Linebacker, Independence (Ky.) Simon Kenton

I just like to listen to relaxing music because it helps me calm my mind and focus on the game. I listen to a lot of Bob Marley before games to be honest. -- Elijah Cunningham, Quarterback, Springboro (Ohio)

I really just like to sit and relax and focus on what I am going to have to do. -- Justin Rigg, Tight End, Springboro, Ohio

My favorite is probably the prayer before the game because it just gets the whole team together and that is important before the game. -- Jay Flock, Tight End, Greensburg (Pa.) Hempfield Area Sr.

I like to listen to music because it gets me in the zone and keeps me calm because before games. I get so pumped up that I need it. I listen to a lot of Eminem. --George Asafo-Adjei, Offensive Lineman, West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West

When you're not studying or playing football, what do you spend most of your time doing?

I spend time at church and on mission trips and things like that. I am not into video games and things like that. -- Bryce Jenkinson, Linebacker, Greenville, Ohio

I do play video games on the Xbox and I love playing NBA2K14 and beating guys online. -- Doug Bates, Tight End, Cincinnati Moeller

I like just going out and shooting the basketball, it is relaxing for me. I also spend a lot of time in the weight room. -- Joe Burrow, Quarterback, Athens, Ohio

I am watching television and doing whatever needs to be done. "The Game" and "Martin" are two of my favorite shows. -- Damon Lowe, Linebacker, Louisville (Ky.) Trinity

If you had to pick today, what would you major in at college?

I would like to major in communications because then I could stay in the sport of football and be able to be an analyst on television. -- Brice Hinton, Offensive Lineman, Trotwood-Madison (Ohio)

I would probably major in business because I like the field and learning about it really interests me. -- Deamonte Lindsey, Running Back, Martinsburg, W.V.

I think it would be sports medicine because I like being around the game but I also like science and the medical field and things like that. It is something that intrigues me. -- Chad Cessna, Offensive Line, Hopkinsville, Ky.

What is the No. 1 goal for your football career?

Just to be successful anywhere that I go and I want to graduate from college and be as successful as possible. -- Rob Dowdy, Offensive Lineman, Westerville (Ohio) Westerville South

I want to get as much as I can out of my football career as possible and if that means only playing college football so be it. But if I am blessed enough to play in the NFL, then that would be great. Tommy Stevens, Quarterback, Indianapolis Decatur Central

Who is your favorite college football player?

It is Jadeveon Clowney because I like how he plays. He plays fearless and I like his motor and his attitude. -- Malik Leonard, Linebacker, Columbus (Ohio) Africentric

I would say Louis Nix from Notre Dame because he is an interior lineman, a big guy and mobile. He does everything that an interior D-Lineman is supposed to do. -- Brandon Tiassum, Defensive Lineman, Indianapolis Park Tudor School

I would have to say it is my best friend Ryan Timmons because he is explosive off the ball and reminds me of myself. I am just about as fast as he is too. -- Jalen Washington, Wide Receiver, Frankford, Ky.

What football team will win the college football National Championship this year?

I would have to say it will be Florida State again. Jameis Winston is coming back as the Heisman winner and I really think that they have a lot of great players and Jimbo Fisher is doing a great job. -- Devon Davis, Offensive Lineman, Wyoming, Ohio

I think the Auburn Tigers have a great shot at it this year. They have a bunch of returning players this year and they didn't lose too many people from last year and they have Gus Malzahn's offense. -- Chad Mitchell, Offensive Lineman, Nashville Montgomery Bell Academy

It will be Alabama because they are the best team in football. Nick Saban pushes their kids to be the best they can be. -- Austin Andrews, Defensive Back, Columbus (Ohio) DeSales

It is going to be Ohio State. They have Urban Meyer. They messed up a little bit last year but they are going to get it together. They have some recruits coming in and they will get it done. -- Brandon Burks, Defensive Back, Pickerington (Ohio) Central

Who is your favorite NFL player?

It would have to be Ray Rice because he is small, quick and fast just like me and I pattern my game after him. -- Trenton Yeomans, Running Back, Piqua, Ohio

Andrew Luck is a good leader on and off the field and a total team player. -- Will Phillis, Quarterback, Lewis Center (Ohio) Olentangy Orange

It is Rob Gronkowski. I am a tight end and he is as well and I just wish I was as big as he is. I watch his blocking techniques. -- Nicholas Potts, Tight End, Hilliard (Ohio) Davidson

I would say that it is Peyton Manning just because he is a perfectionist. Everything that he does is great. He just uses mind over matter. -- Jeff Crabtree, Linebacker, Massillon (Ohio) Washington

I am going to say Lawrence Taylor because I like how he was aggressive and I liked his game because he was a beast. -- Kordell Looney, Defensive End, Springfield (Ohio)

What NFL team will win the Super Bowl this year?

I am going to say the Dallas Cowboys because they are the best team in the country. I am not a fan of Jerry Jones, but they are going to pull it together sometime. -- Austin Dorris, Tight End, Shadyside, Ohio

The Pittsburgh Steelers will because they are the best team because they are from Pennsylvania. They are going to make some excellent picks in the draft. -- Bryce Gibson, Defensive Back, Hyattsville (Md.) Archbishop Carroll

The Indianapolis Colts because I am from there. The Indiana Pacers are going to come back, too. The Colts will win because of Andrew Luck. -- Riley Neal, Quarterback, Yorktown, Ind.

The Seattle Seahawks because they have a lot returning and because of Russell Wilson and the way that the defense plays. -- Jake Hendershot, Quarterback, Lizton (Ind.) Tri-West

It is going to be the New Orleans Saints. They are my favorite team. They have a great work ethic and a great quarterback. -- Brayden Underwood, Athlete, Springfield, Ohio
