Little decides not to wait, commits to A&M

It wasn't all that long ago that 2016 Allen OL Gregory Little knew when he was committing: June 5, 2015. Even when he was up at the Rivals 5-Star Challenge in Baltimore talking to Texas A&M commit Daylon Mack and referring to the Aggies as "we' and "us", he maintained he wasn't ready to commit.

Two weeks later, things are a bit different. The 6-foot-6, 280-pound tackle who is possibly the nation's top recruit for the 2016 class has decided to make his move.

"I feel real comfortable with A&M. I love everything about it," he told AggieYell.com Friday. "It's fun up there, so I decided, why wait?"

Little's decision to commit was eagerly accepted by A&M coach Kevin Sumlin, who wasn't shy in telling the big offensive lineman how pleased he was.

"He was very happy," Little related. "He said he wanted to do cartwheels."

Little's commitment means he will find himself in familiar territory, blocking for his current quarterback and 2015 Aggie commit Kyler Murray. Little said Murray, who has taken on the role of helping convince offensive players to commit to A&M's '15 class, had mentioned the possibility of playing together again.

"We talked about it a little bit," Little said. "It was my own decision, but he talked to me about blocking for him up there."

While the idea of playing with Murray again had its appeal, Little said there were several other positives that helped A&M beat out the likes of LSU, Georgia, Notre Dame and Texas.

"Location is one thing," he said. "The SEC is another, and the spread offense -- I love playing in the spread offense."

Allen Offensive Coordinator Jeff Fleener raved about A&M's newest commit when asked what the Aggies were getting in Little.

"A&M is getting an all-around great player. He's the complete package, in my mind," Fleener said. "He's a great kid off the field and a great kid on the field. He's got great size, great athleticism; a great big teddy bear off the field and one of the meanest guys on the field."

Fleener said Little is "someone just line" with Allen alum and current Aggie left tackle Cedric Ogbuehi, who he credited for helping Little decide on A&M.

"They can probably thank Ced for all of the recruiting he's done of the last month being in Allen and talking to Greg on a regular basis," he said. "The world's off [Little's} shoulders now and he can just be happy about it."
