Doucet Looking to January

The top athlete in the state of Louisiana and the Rivals.com No. 4 overall player in the country is Early Doucet of St. Martinville. After taking two of his allotted five official visits, December and January look to be big for the superstar prospect.

Doucet has already visited Florida State and Oklahoma officially and has Miami scheduled for the weekend of December 12 and will then visit LSU last on the weekend of January 16.

Doucet will also appear in the 4th Annual U.S. Army-All American Bowl on January 4th in the Alamodome. That game will be televised live by NBC.

College coaches could begin making in-home visits on December 1 and several made a mad dash to Doucets doorstep.

"Coach Dooley (LSU) came on Sunday and the coach (Curtis Johnson) from Miami came tonight," Doucet said.

Doucet stands at 6-foot-2, 211 pounds and he runs a 4.45 in the 40-yard dash. He has not put up any staggering numbers for his senior season thus far due to a hamstring injury. As a junior, he rushed for over 1236 yards. Doucet also had close to 500 yards passing and 22 touchdowns.

He finished his senior season with approximately 850 yards rushing, 700 yards passing and 300 yards receiving. He accounted for 29 combined touchdowns.

Doucet was asked if he was prepared to name a favorite school at this point in the process and he said, "I am down to Oklahoma, Miami and LSU."

At one point during the summer, Doucet was considering graduating early and enrolling at the school of his choice in January but he decided against that due to wanting to play basketball for St. Martinville. He will remain in school through May but playing basketball is still up in the air.

"I don't know if I'm going to play," Doucet said. "I'm thinking that I might just want to workout, train and work on my speed."
