Getting Goodson

Ring.

"The number you have reached has a voicemail that his full," the answering service says. "Please try back later, goodbye."

Michael Goodson, the dynamic four-star running back from Klein (Texas) Collins, has had his phone slammed with messages. His father's voicemail is full. He is the topic on message boards across the country going into this weekend.

Why?

During a seven-on-seven game against Klein Oak, both teams on the next field stopped to watch what he was going to do next. He didn't disappoint.

"He caught a ball out of the backfield, shook a kid out of his shoes and out ran everyone else," Michael Goodson Sr. said. "The kids from Klein and Klein Forest on the other field stopped to watch and all you heard were 'ohhs' and 'ahhs.' "

That's why.

Not to mention that Southern California coach Pete Carroll flew his private jet to bump into Goodson on campus this spring - the only kid he saw in Houston. Goodson would return the favor, unofficially visiting the Trojans and chatting up running back Reggie Bush.

"Players will tell you what's really going on," Goodson said after the visit.

He has checked out Texas A&M several times, most recently on Thursday where he spent a lot of time with the Aggie players in College Station.

"I spent a lot of time with guys like Martellus Bennett, Jorvorskie Lane, Alton Dixon and Reggie McNeal," Goodson told Troy Miller of Websider.com.

He's unofficially visited LSU, which is chock full of backs and that is something that concerns him.

He road-tripped to Oklahoma a few weeks ago and was impressed with Sooner Nation, but with Adrian Peterson the man in Norman, the Sooners didn't make his final three.

On his way home, he stopped by Oklahoma State with little expectations. He was pleasantly surprised, and could be headed back for a return visit as this story runs with a few of his new closest friends.

"They have some of the most incredible facilities that you'll ever see," Goodson said about Oklahoma State. "They're crazy good."

Can he turn down the bright lights of Los Angeles and back-to-back national championships?

Will he stay home and be the future of Aggie football or will he manhandle the panhandle and cross the Red River to Oklahoma State?

The answer to all of these questions will be answered at 10:30 p.m. Sunday night when Goodson will announce his decision on television station KPRC channel 2 in Houston.

Goodson will appear as a guest on KPRC's Sports Sunday and will be joined by Rivals.com recruiting reporter Matt Malatesta. Rivals.com will have live coverage of Goodson's announcement.
