Inman Named SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week
Daniel Inman was named the Southeastern Conference's Offensive Lineman of the Week according to an announcement by the SEC office on Monday.ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia junior offensive tackle
Inman (6-7, 328 pounds) was part of a Georgia offensive line that enabled the Bulldogs to roll up 543 yards in total offense, including 280 yards rushing in Saturday's 44-7 victory over Louisiana-Monroe. The 280 yards rushing represented the second consecutive game in which Georgia rushed for more than 200 yards as a team (238 yards vs. South Carolina on Sept. 10) and it also marked the most yards Georgia has rushed for in a single game under head coach Mark Richt.
For the game, the Bulldogs averaged 10.2 yards per offensive play and 9.7 yards per running play due in large part to the blocking of the line. In addition, sophomore TB Danny Ware rushed for 109 yards on 13 carries, marking the second consecutive week in which Georgia had a running back rush for more than 100 yards.
According to film grades, Inman graded out at 92 percent and also had six "Dominator" blocks. Through the season's first three games, Inman and the rest of the Georgia offensive line have helped Georgia ball carriers average 6.3 yards per carry. In addition, they have allowed only two sacks in 74 pass attempts.
Inman is the second Georgia player in as many weeks to win the award after senior offensive tackle Dennis Roland was recognized by the SEC following his performance in Georgia's 17-15 victory over South Carolina.
