Texas A&M gets next crack at Goodson

The second trip was a little closer to home for Rivals100 running back Michael Goodson as the Houston-area four-star prospect took in Texas A&M this weekend after Southern Cal a few weeks ago.

Of course between visiting USC and Texas A&M this past weekend, news was made in the Goodson camp when the 6-foot, 205-pound long-time Oklahoma State commitment opened his recruitment back up and eliminated the Cowboys. College Station was the next up to bat.

"I just got back from Texas A&M this weekend," Goodson said. "It was a pretty good trip overall man. I got to meet a lot of the players and see the campus. I talked with coach Dennis Franchione and really all the assistants there because we ate with those guys."

Goodson also took in the A&M basketball game this past weekend as well and got to meet fellow recruits like Aggie commitment Jerrod Johnson.

"I was with him a lot and you could tell that he really loved it man," Goodson said. "He's committed to them but he didn't really get on me that much about my decision. Jerrod was cool man. He just let it go."

One thing that Goodson did enjoy was the relationship he saw between the coaches and players.

"At A&M, it's like a big family there," he said. "I really saw a connection there and that was pretty cool to see."

However, Goodson added that it's still a dead heat between the Trojans and the Aggies.

"Everything is all even between those two," Goodson said. "It's still USC and A&M right now for me. No one is really above the other."

Goodson is rated as the No. 5 overall prospect in the state of Texas and the No. 8 running back in the nation.

He will plans to make his annoucement at the Army All-American Bowl.
