Prothro hopes to play next year
Get the inside scoop on your favorite team:
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama receiver Tyrone Prothro will have a rod inserted to stabilize his broken left leg Tuesday and is optimistic that he'll be able to play next season if the procedure goes well.
''It appears that way,'' Prothro said.
This will be his second time undergoing the procedure. A rod was inserted the day he was injured against Florida in October, but it had to be removed about three weeks later due to infection.
He was released from DCH Regional Medical Center on Oct. 26.
The procedure normally lasts about 90 minutes and is usually done under general anesthesia.
Prothro has been on crutches since the injury. He had been the Crimson Tide's top receiver. For more coverage of the Alabama Crimson Tide, check out BamaOnLine.com.
