Inman suspended for first two games
Daniel Inman has been issued a two-game suspension for violation of a team rule according to head football coach Mark Richt.ATHENS -- University of Georgia senior offensive tackle
Richt said the suspension would be served the first two games of the 2006 season against Western Kentucky and South Carolina.
Inman, a senior from Hope Mills, N.C., was a second team All-SEC selection last season after starting all 13 games at offensive tackle.
Georgia is now without two offensive linemen for the first two games. Back-up center Ian Smith is also suspended for the first two games, a circumstance that's moved freshman Kevin Perez to the No. 2 spot though he's never lined up at center before in his career.
Inman's suspension means that the only two offensive tackles on the team with playing experience are Michael Turner and Ken Shackleford. Freshman John Miller enrolled in January, but was held out of spring practice with a shoulder injury. Of the rest of Georgia's incoming offensive linemen, Josh Davis (6-6, 295) is the best canidate to provide depth at tackle.
With Inman's suspension, that could become a possibility at the start of the 2006 season.
