Painter honored by Big Ten

Boilermaker quarterback Curtis Painter has been named the Big Ten's co-Offensive Player-of-the-Week for his performance against Northwestern.

Painter earned a share of the award (with Indiana QB Kellen Lewis, who engineered the Hoosiers' upset of Iowa) with a strong showing in Evanston.

He completed 35-of-49 passes for a career-high 431 yards, with two touchdown passes and a TD run in the Boilermakers' 31-10 victory.

The honor was Purdue's third of the season, as defensive end Anthony Spencer has earned Defensive Player-of-the-Week acclaim twice.

Michigan's Lamarr Woodley was Defensive Player-of-the-Week this week, while Ohio State's Teddy Ginn was the special teams honoree.
