Pregame Notes from KY: Game X
Georgia Bulldogs (6-3, 3-3) are in Lexington to face the Kentucky Wildcats (4-4, 2-3). Georgia is coming off a tough October in which the Bulldogs lost three of their four games.
Under head coach Mark Richt, the Bulldogs are 5-0 against Kentucky and Georgia has won the last nine straight games against the Wildcats.
Georgia holds the series edge 47-10-2 all-time over Kentucky.
Dawgs without Adams
Junior guard Chester Adams did not make the trip to Lexington after re-injuring his high ankle sprain twice in the last week. Adams took a shot to his ankle in the Florida game last week and rolled the ankle in practice Monday. Senior Michael Turner will start in Adam’s place at tight guard for the Kentucky game. Georgia is undefeated this season when they are missing one of their top six offensive linemen. Daniel Inman missed the Western Kentucky Game and South Carolina games do to a suspension, Turner missed the UAB, Colorado, and Ole Miss games because of an ankle sprain, and Adams did not play against Mississippi State.2nd career start for Dixson
Senior defensive tackle Dale Dixson will start his first game of the 2006 season against the Wildcats. Dixson is the third different defensive tackle to start on the other side of sophomore Jeff Owens. Redshirt freshman Kade Weston and senior Ray Gant also started games at defensive tackle this season. Dixson earned his second career start and a good performance off the bench in Jacksonville last week for the Bulldogs.
Freshman linebacker Darius Dewberry will not play this week because of a hamstring injury, but he is expected back next week for the Auburn game. Junior flankers A.J. Bryant (groin), Mikey Henderson (hamstring), and split end Mohamed Massaquoi (hamstring) are all battling injuries heading into the game Saturday.
