Nobody has wanted to prove himself more to people this season than Corona (Calif.) Norco linebacker Jordan Campbell. All year long, people have telling him everything he can't do. However, he has constantly surprised his doubters. It's that desire that has earned him a spot to play for the West squad in the Offense-Defense All-American Bowl.

"It's just another opportunity to show everybody what I've got," Campbell, who is 5-foot-11 and 226 pounds, said. "Everybody said I was too short to play linebacker, but then they watched my tape and everybody recruited me to play linebacker. Everybody said I wasn't fast enough, but I go out there and run people down on kickoffs and make a lot of tackles.

Five facts about Jordan Campbell
• His hero is his father Titus Campbell, who coached him when he was younger.
• Wants to major in sports medicine or communications.
• His hobbies: Working out, getting ready for the game, watching film and hanging out with his brother.
• Campbell traveled for four months this summer, hitting camps and combines to prove to people he's one of the nation's top players.
• His favorite movie(s): The Program and Remember the Titans.
"I can't wait to show everybody in the nation that I'm one of the best players in the country. I hope to get out there and play on special teams, kickoffs, everything. I'll run through a brick wall if they want me to."

All they're going to want him to do is get after running backs and receivers on the East squad. And he'll do it in front of a national television audience on ESPNU.

"That'll work, too," Campbell, a four-star prospect, said with a smile.

"This is a really big honor, and I'm excited that I got selected to play in the game. I'm going to get to play with a bunch of really good players from California, and it's a really neat thing to be recognized like this."

Campbell committed almost a month ago to USC over offers from Arizona State, Minnesota, New Mexico, Oregon, San Diego State, Utah, Washington, Fresno State and others. Campbell could project on both sides of the football for the Trojans. While he'd prefer to play linebacker in college, he's also good enough to be a talented fullback for USC - the school he grew up watching.

"If you would've met me as a kid, you would've seen me with my SC button-up shirt on and my SC hat watching the game with my grandpa," Campbell said. "Every Saturday we'd watch the game. It didn't matter if we were at our pizza restaurant or somewhere else. We'd make sure we knew when the Trojans played so we could rush home and see them on TV. It's been a dream to play at USC since… I can't even remember how long ago."
