Cissoko firms up commitment
• More Army All-American Bowl Coverage | U.S. Army All-American Bowl Rosters
SAN ANTONIO - Since the coaching change at Michigan, the status of Detroit (Mich.) Cass Tech cornerback Boubacar Cissoko has been in limbo. Upon his arrival at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas, Cissoko put to rest all of the speculation about where he'll end up next fall.
"Where I stand right now, the day of the game, I'll make my commitment to Michigan," Cissoko said. "I actually got my hat in the bag. I talked to coach (Rich)Rodriguez and I talked to his staff also so right now everything is going smooth for me."
Cissoko was set to take an official visit to Penn State on Jan. 11. When asked if he'll still take that visit, Cissoko said he's done.
"All of that is done with, sir," he said. "It's my word."
Cissoko added that he expects new Michigan defensive backs coach Tony Gibson to visit him following the dead period along with Rodriguez. However, Cissoko has already had an opportunity to forge a relationship with both of them.
"Coach (Rodriguez) is a good man," Cissoko said. "He was happy to speak to me and said he needed some good corners so I feel like I was that guy.
"That type of defense, it demands a good fast corner that can play press coverage. I believe that's my type of game."
