Hall shines in San Antonio

Among the 500 high school football prospects hoping to turn heads at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Junior Combine at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas was Marcus Hall, a 6-foot-5, 290-pound tackle from Glenville High School in Cleveland, Ohio.

Hall, who holds offers from several schools including Ohio State, Illinois, Iowa and Minnesota, used his big frame and quick feet to ward off would-be pass rushers. Defenders came at him with bull rushes and spin moves, but Hall was up to the task.

In fact, he was called out by more defenders than any other lineman in his group.

"That made me feel good," Hall said. "It made me feel important."

Hall's only real competitor was Michigan commit William Campbell, a 6-foot-4, 327-pound defensive tackle from Cass Tech in Detroit, Mich. Campbell won the first two bouts but Hall wasn't about to give up.

"He's a really good player," Hall said. "I'm a competitive player and he got me the first time so I wanted to get him again."

Hall got the revenge he was seeking.

Like many Glenville prospects before him, Hall said Ohio State ranks near the top of his list of favorites. But, he's not ready to consider himself a lock to land in Columbus.

"Right now I'm considering every school," he said.

His only unofficial visit has been to Columbus and he's very impressed with what the Buckeyes have to offer.

"Coach (Jim) Tressel really wants me down there," he said. "Their offensive line coach said he likes me and really wants me to come to camp to work out with him."
