HUMBLE, Tex. -- LSU is still in the driver’s seat to hold onto Rivals100 offensive lineman Kenyon Green’s commitment, but the Tigers better buckle up.
Green has seen his recruitment pick up in a big way since committing almost a year ago when LSU was his first offer. Since then, the Tigers chose to move forward with Ed Orgeron, are building a new offense, and have plenty of competition for Green’s services in 2019. Alabama has emerged as a major threat to sway Green off of that early commitment after offering him in July, but he said that teams like Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M and TCU are also showing him more attention this season.
“I’m still committed, but like I have been saying, I’m still looking at other schools,” he said. “LSU’s not set in stone because I have a bunch of time left, so I’m just enjoying the process and taking my time with it.”
Green picked up his offer directly from Nick Saban on that summer visit, and said that his experience with him was naturally the highlight of his time in Tuscaloosa.
“He’s a serious man, but when I was talking to him, he was cool like everyone has said,” he said. “On that field, he’s a totally different man. He’s serious, he wants his team to do great things and that’s what I like about him.”
