Arden Key commits to LSU

The LSU coaching staff is closing strong with their class of 2015 and a big part of the Tigers surge is Rivals250 defensive end Arden Key of Atlanta, GA, Hapeville Charter.

Key announced his commitment to LSU live in Fox Sports South Monday evening.

"For the next three or four years I will be attending LSU," Key said while putting on a LSU ball cap.

New LSU defensive line coach Ed Orgeron is responsible for the recruiting process of Arden Key and he had a huge impact on the Tigers getting him into the fold.

Key stands at 6-foot-6, 240-pounds and is the nation's 13th rated weakside defensive end according to Rivals.com.

He committed to LSU over South Carolina, Miami, Texas Tech and many others. He has scholarship offers from every single major Southeastern Conference program.

"Key is a long, rangy defensive end prospect who a tremendous amount of athleticism. He's lightning fast for a defensive lineman and while he's a bit raw, he shows flashes of high-level potential," Rivals recruiting analyst Woody Wommack said. "I think there is a little bit of boom or bust factor with him, but it's rare to see a guy with his combination of size and speed at the defensive end position."

Key becomes LSU second defensive end commitment for the class of 2015. He joins Isaiah Washington of Karr High school in New Orleans. With Key's commitment, LSU now has 21 commitments as earlier in the day the Tigers added another punter in Australian Josh Growden.
