BREAKING: 4-star NT Siaki Ika commits to LSU

LSU just received a rather large addition to its defensive front.

Siaki Ika, a Rivals150 nose tackle out of Salt Lake City, Utah, committed to the Tigers over Florida, Utah, Oregon and Southern Cal to kick off National Signing Day on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3, 330-pound interior defensive lineman is the No. 121 prospect in the country, according to Rivals, as well as the No. 5-ranked tackle and No. 1 overall player from the state of Utah.

Ika made his official visit to LSU back in October for the Tigers’ upset of No. 2-ranked Georgia. He has since made official stops all across the West Coast and most recently to Florida. Ika was resolute on playing college football in the SEC.

Coach Ed Orgeron, defensive line coach Dennis Johnson and safeties coach Bill Busch all played a huge role in landing the 4-star lineman, going in-home with the one-time BYU verbal multiple times over the past month.

Ika is the second defensive lineman in the Tigers’ 2019 recruiting class, which entered Wednesday ranked No. 7 in the country.
