Elias Ricks out for the remainder of the season
LSU cornerback Elias Ricks is out for the remainder of the season, Ed Orgeron said on the SEC Teleconference call Wednesday morning.
"Received news this week that Eli Ricks will be out, will be unavailable the rest of the season, so that means we'll have to move maybe Cordale Flott to cornerback, Sage Ryan to nickel. We have a different combination that we're gonna work this week," Orgeron said.
"It's a sustaining injury that just kept on coming and coming back, coming back. And he and his family decided to get it operated on and get it fixed. And I think he's gonna get it fixed pretty soon.
"It was a nagging injury here and there. And he kept on playing with it and playing with it, and it kept on reoccurring. So he and his family decided that they would get it operated on."
Ricks had 11 tackles, two passes defended and one interception in the first six games of the season.
