Kiel is a Tiger

Les Miles and the LSU football program picked up arguably the biggest quarterback commitment in Tiger history as Rivals.com five-star quarterback Gunner Kiel of Columbus, Ind.-East announced his decision Tuesday evening.
"I woke up Friday morning and knew I wanted to be a Tiger," Kiel told myindianafootball.com.

Kiel, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound Pro-style quarterback chose LSU over Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and many others. The Rivals100 member and nation's No. 18 overall prospect becomes the 22nd member in LSU's Class of 2012.
Kiel is a mid-term graduate and will enroll at LSU for the spring semester where he will also participate in the Tigers spring football practices and compete against returning quarterbacks Zach Mettenberger, Stephen Rivers and Jerrard Randle.
Kiel, who was 32-5 as a starter during his prep career, is rated as the nation's No. 1 pro-style quarterback as he passed for 2,517 yards with 28 touchdowns with 4 interceptions in 2011, helping East to a 13-2 record and appearance in the state semifinals. He was recently named Indiana's Mr. Football, symbolic of the state's top player.
Kiel will take part in his final game on Jan. 7 in the U.S. Army All-American game in San Antonio.
