LSU's season-opening loss to unranked Mississippi State was undeniably disappointing.

But coach Ed Orgeron and his staff and players quickly began identifying and addressing the issues that started their unusual season on the wrong foot.

And the Tigers have expressed consistent optimism this week at their ability to bounce back and prove themselves for closer to their high expectations than to the frustrating first impression.
