LSU, Auburn lead for OL Miller

Patrick Miller is one of Florida's top rising senior offensive linemen and two SEC schools are at the top of his list. LSU and Auburn have each made a big impression on the four-star prospect over the course of the recruiting process and the way things are going it looks as though Miller will end up at one of those two schools.

With offers from schools all across the South, Miller would certainly be a welcome addition for just about any recruiting class. So far the programs led by Les Miles and Gene Chizik have done the best job of making their case.

"It's pretty much those two schools the more time passes," Miller told TigerBait.com this week. "The longer things go the more I like LSU and Auburn. Those are probably my top two to be honest."

What does each school have going for it?

"LSU, it's tough to say. I just like the atmosphere in Louisiana. It's really cool out there. I like how it feels and I like all the players. They all hang out with each other. The food in Louisiana was good. I loved that," he laughed.

"Auburn's cool, too. They're in a good little area and it's a small town if that's where I want to be. Baton Rouge is a little different because it's bigger.

"I couldn't put one ahead of the other. That would be really hard. They're just different. I've just got a feeling that I'll know at some point."

Miller is familiar with each school having visited and spent time with the coaches. He was at LSU in the spring, so he was able to get a good early feel for the school, and he was in Baton Rouge again recently.

"I was there last weekend," Miller said of LSU. "I just went down and talked to the coaches. My aunt lives in New Orleans and so I just stayed there with my dad. We went out for a night at LSU and then went back to New Orleans."

One thing that probably won't be a factor for Miller is playing time.

What if you get there and you're just not good enough? No coach can guarantee you a starting position. I'm just trying not to think about that," he explained.

Miller, ranked the No. 23 offensive tackle in the nation by Rivals.com, said he will probably take official visits to his top two or three schools in the fall.

"I've got to make a decision before December because I'll be graduating then," he concluded.

The 6-foot-7, 260-pound offensive tackle from West Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer is ranked the No. 199 overall prospect in the nation.
