LSU gets commitment from OL Saahdiq Charles

The LSU football coaching staff continues to get great recruiting news as offensive lineman Saahdiq Charles of Madison-Ridgeland Academy (Miss.) gave the Tiger coaches his verbal commitment Tuesday.

Charles announced his decision via Twitter.

Charles' decision now gives LSU 12 commitments for the class of 2017.

In an interview with TigerBait.com earlier this month Charles said this about his home state.

“I love Louisiana,” he said. “I’m there two weekends out of the month. I’m from the East Bank. All my family moved out of the city after the hurricane but I’ve got some in Chalmette, some in Baton Rouge.”

Charles also has high praise for LSU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes.

“We talk literally every day,” he said. “I’m about to text him back right now. I have so much respect for that dude. He cares about my future, not only if I come play for them. He’s a good dude.”

“I grew an LSU fan. My favorite LSU players are Tyrann Mathieu, Eric Reid, Odell (Beckham Jr.) and Patrick Peterson. Recently at my position I like La’el Collins.”

More to come on this breaking story.
