Miles recaps first scrimmage

Rain caused LSU to hold its first scrimmage of the preseason indoors Wednesday morning.

"It was sloppy," Miles said. "We had penalties and we did not play like we like. We ran the football and threw the football with some understanding. The first defense is hard to go against. The defense looked awfully good at times and the offense looked awfully good at times.
"We are quick on defense. They had a push at the line of scrimmage. The defense tackled hard. We are throwing the ball better and we still have that pounding rush. That's a difficult issue for the defense if you can both pass and run. We probably ran the football more than throw it today."
LSU simply will have a walk-through Thursday as the team goes over mistakes from the scrimmage. The Tigers will practice twice Friday before holding their second preseason scrimmage Saturday.
