The 2017 class of committed prospects for LSU continues to grow as the Tigers picked up the commitment of Catholic High of Baton Rouge defensive end Aaron Moffitt.

The Louisiana product tweeted the news Monday afternoon.

Following that Twitter announcement TigerBait.com caught up with Moffitt where he talked about the decision to end the process now.

"After the Bayou Picnic I talked with my family and my coaches and saw really how LSU is a big family and I wanted to be a part of it," Moffitt said. "I also talked with the current commits and I wanted that feeling they have for LSU and I wanted to be brothers with them.

"I messaged coach Cameron and let him know I was committing and he was really excited that I wanted to be a part of the LSU family."

Moffitt is of course the son of legendary LSU strength and conditioning coach Tommy Moffitt who was very emotional about the decision.

"My dad was in tears when I told him I was ready to commit. It has always been his dream to coach me and it was something he was hoping I was going to do so he was really excited."

There certainly won't be any wavering on the commitment as Moffitt says he's done with the process.

"I'm done with my recruitment, I may take a few visits just to check out what other schools are like if coach Miles and coach Cameron are cool with it because I don't have much experience to compare LSU with, but it is not a big deal if they don't want me to go. I certainly won't camp anywhere or anything like that, just maybe an official visit somewhere.

"I feel really relieved to be committed to LSU and overall I think this was the best fit for me and will help me further myself in life."

Moffitt knows in Dave Aranda's defense he could be used multiple ways.

"I'm going to play either linebacker, defensive end or defensive tackle depending on how my body develops," Moffitt said. "I'm still growing and coach Miles said he wants to put me where I can help the most and be the best fit for the team."

The Tigers now have 11 commitments with the addition of Moffitt for the class of 2017.
