TURNING POINT
Texas A&M reduced its deficit to 11 points at 21-10 with a touchdown pass late in the first half. LSU took the second half kickoff and drove 71 yards in 13 plays for a field goal. That possession consumed more than six minutes and gave the Tigers a two-touchdown advantage. Mettenberger completed two third-and-long situations with completions to Landry on the field goal drive. Rashard Robinson intercepted a pass on the Aggies' next series. LSU then drove for a touchdown which wrapped up the victory late in the third quarter.
LSU KEY OFFENSIVE PERFORMERS
Magee led a rushing attack which gained more than 300 yards with a career-best 149 yards on 13 carries. Magee, who scored one touchdown, had runs of 65 and 37 yards. Mettenberger, who was 11-of-20, passed for 193 yards and the two touchdowns to Landry. Beckham caught five passes for 50 yards, while Landry accounted for 87 yards on four receptions.

LSU MISSED SCORING OPPORTUNITIES
Les Miles postgame videoClick Excluding the last possession of the game, LSU put points on the scoreboard every time it reached Texas A&M territory - four touchdowns and two field goals. The first Tigers field goal was a disappointment as they had a first-and-goal at the Aggies' 3. Two false starts cost LSU ten yards and led to the field goal try. A holding penalty caused the Tigers have to attempt their second field goal after having a first down at Texas A&M's 15.Here to view this Link.
LSU CRITICAL MISTAKES
Penalties were the biggest problems for the Tigers. They were penalized 13 times for 111 yards. False starts by tackle Jerald Hawkins and guard Trai Turner forced LSU to settle for a 21-yard Delahoussaye field goal in the third quarter. A holding call against tight end Logan Stokes slowed down a fourth-quarter drive and necessitated another Delahoussaye field goal. On Manziel's 51-yard touchdown pass to Walker, cornerback Tre'Davious White slipped in coverage. Keehn got off a 14-yard punt into the wind which set up Texas A&M's field goal.
KEY STATISTICS
LSU's four tailbacks rushed for 322 yards on 48 attempts - an average of 6.7 yards per carry. Meanwhile, the Aggies' two tailbacks had 21 yards on six tries. WHAT THE HEAD COACH HAD TO SAY
Les Miles:
"Sometimes as a head coach, you keep asking your defensive staff 'you need to do this, you need to do this' so many times that the defensive staff says 'we got that, we understand that.' The handling of the head coach in allowing me to participate, but not overwhelm, is just what they did. (Defensive coordinator) John Chavis, (defensive line coach) Brick Haley and (secondary coach) Corey Raymond were spectacular in that game. Offensively, we talked about playing efficient football. The defense was going to get them stopped and we were going to have to possess the ball and drive the ball. We didn't have a turnover and we kept the ball 40 minutes to the opponent's 20. That's the recipe for victory."
