OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME
For the fourth consecutive game, Fournette set a career-high - this time with 228 yards on 19 carries. Fournette ran for three touchdowns for the second consecutive game. He is the first LSU player since LaBrandon Toefield in 2001 (Tulane and Utah State) to have three rushing touchdowns in back-to-back games. Fournette became the ninth player in school history to rush for 200 yards in a game. His 228 yards were the third most by a Tigers back against a SEC team. Alley Broussard ran for 250 yards against Ole Miss in 2004 and Cecil Collins had 232 yards against Auburn in 1997. Fournette averaged a school-record 12.0 yards per rush. Kevin Faulk had the record with an 11.7-yard average against Houston in 1996. Fournette has 387 rushing yards after two games - the most for any LSU player in history.
Fournette's comments: "Auburn had eight men in the box, but our offensive linemen did a great job opening holes. If I got 1-on-1 against a player, I have to make him miss. If I don't make them miss, they are going to take me out. It feels great that we have beaten two teams who embarrassed us last year. We still have that scar. I'm not focusing on the Heisman (Trophy). I want to win a championship."
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE GAME
Safety Jamal Adams made six tackles, but made four plays of impact. He had one tackle behind the line of scrimmage and made his first career interception. Adams broke up two passes - the second time in his career he had more than one pass breakup in a game. Adams was credited with three pass breakups last year against Ole Miss. The LSU secondary permitted Johnson to complete only 11 passes for 100 yards. Ricardo Louis, who had 13 receptions in Auburn's first two games, had one against LSU.
Adams' comments: "I wanted to bait (Johnson) on the interception. I saw the personnel they had in the game and I knew they were going to try to get the ball to (Williams). This was a big-time game on CBS. I used to watch Tyrann Mathieu and Patrick Peterson playing on CBS games. We just came out and did what the coaches asked us to do. This was a team which beat us last year and we didn't like it."
LSU MISSED SCORING OPPORTUNITIES
Once again, LSU cashed in on almost all of its scoring opportunities. There was just one series for LSU which ended in Auburn territory without scoring any points. In the third quarter, an end-around by Donte Jackson gained 14 yards and gave LSU a first down at Auburn's 39. Two running plays gained just four yards before Harris threw an incomplete pass to Malachi Dupre. Following a delay-of-game penalty, Jamie Keehn punted Auburn inside its 10-yard line.

FROM THE LOCKERROOM
Coach Les Miles' comments: "The key piece of the day was no turnovers. We managed the game well. We handled the ball. We were dominant at rushing the ball. We could have thrown it better. Obviously, we could have controlled the clock better and worked the game into an eventual positive ending by rushing the football. Defensively, the front stifled Auburn to start. They played very fast defense. You can see guys come out of the secondary or out of the linebacker corps and into the quarterback. Those are fast guys making plays."
