Two LSU freshmen show poor judgment

However, two of the 2014 recruits definitely put themselves in a bad situation with coach Les Miles following separate incidents on campus this month.
Tackle Trey Lealaimatafao, who is from San Antonio, was given a misdemeanor summons July 1 by LSU campus police for stealing a bicycle. Tackle Davon Godchaux, who is from Plaquemine High School, was given a misdemeanor summons July 21 after throwing a firecracker into a dormitory room.
Both players admitted to the incidents and were released after accepting the summons. Neither Lealaimatafao nor Godchaux was arrested. There has been no official statement for Miles.
The bike stealing is the second off-the field issue for Lealaimatafao. Last week, he tore a muscle in his arm after punching a glass window in the LSU weight room. Apparently, Lealaimatafao was upset with one of his teammates.
Lealaimatafao was expected to miss much of the season due to the arm injury. Now, he has illustrated another poor decision - not the way to earn the trust of the coaching staff. Lealaimatafao said that he thought it was all right to take the bike since it was not tied up. The theft was caught on tape.
Godchaux threw the firecracker into one of the rooms in the West Campus Apartments where the football players stay during the summer. Godchaux, who is recovering from knee surgery, told campus police that the incident was a prank. The firecracker started a small fire.
The other three defensive linemen in the 2014 class are end Deondre Clark from Oklahoma City, end Sione Teuhema from Keller (Tex.) and tackle Travonte Valentine from Hiahleah (Fla.). Valentine did not participate in summer workouts because he had not been certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse.
