The LSU football program picked up a verbal commitment Thursday morning from offensive lineman Chidi Valentine-Okeke of Stockbridge (Ga.) First Baptist Christian North.
"Committed to LSU," Valentine-Okeke told Rivals.com Thursday morning via text.

Valentine-Okeke gives LSU 19 commitments for the 2015 recruiting class and five offensive linemen, six with deep-snapper Blake Ferguson.
Valentine-Okeke, 6-foot-5 and 307 pounds chose LSU over an impressive list of SEC schools including Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina. He took official recruiting visits to Auburn, Alabama, Georgia and LSU.
A transfer student from Nigeria, Valentine-Okeke is from the same area of that country as Rivals250 defensive end Prince Tega Wanogho Jr. who LSU is also courting. The two prospects visited LSU on the same weekend earlier this month.
Rivals recruiting analyst Josh Helmholdt sees great potential in Okeke with some hard work.
"I really do like his upside. Much less of a sure thing than most of the others we have ranked ahead of him due to that lack of experience and loads of development needed, but he is long, he is light on his feet and he has a good, wide frame."
LSU offensive line coach Jeff Grimes is responsible for the recruitment of Valentine-Okeke for the Tiger staff.
