LSU lands linebacker Monty Rice

The LSU football program got some positive news Monday morning as linebacker Monty Rice of James Clemens High in Madison, Alabama announced his commitment to the Tigers.

The talented Rice committed to LSU over Georgia, Auburn and others. He had dozens of high caliber offers.

Rice is the first commitment for 2017 since Ed Orgeron was named full time head football coach at LSU. The Tigers now have 18 verbal commitments for the class of 2017.
